ഐ.ആർ.എൻ.എസ്.എസ്. (IRNSS - Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System

നാവിഗേഷനും റേഞ്ചിങിനുമായി ഇന്ത്യൻ ബഹിരാകാശരംഗം വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യുന്ന പദ്ധതിയാണ് ഐ.ആർ.എൻ.എസ്.എസ്. (IRNSS - Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System). ഇന്ത്യൻ റീജിയണൽ നാവിഗേഷൻ സാറ്റലൈറ്റ് സിസ്റ്റം എന്നാണ് പൂർണ്ണരൂപം. ഏഴു ഉപഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു കൂട്ടമാണ് IRNSS.
ഇന്ത്യ സ്വന്തമായി വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്ത ഗതിനിര്‍ണയ ഉപഗ്രഹം ഐ.ആര്‍.എന്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌.1 ഡി ശ്രീഹരിക്കോട്ടയിലെ സതീഷ്‌ ധവാന്‍ ബഹിരാകാശ കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ വൈകിട്ട്‌ 5.19ന്‌ വിജയകരമായി വിക്ഷേപിച്ചു. പരീക്ഷണം പൂര്‍ണ വിജയത്തിലെത്തിയാല്‍ അമേരിക്കന്‍ ഗതിനിര്‍ണയ സംവിധാനമായ ജി.പി.എസിന്‌ ബദലായി സ്വന്തമായി പുതിയ സംവിധാനം വികസിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഇന്ത്യയ്‌ക്ക് എളുപ്പമാകും.
പി.എസ്‌.എല്‍.പി സി 27 ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ്‌ പുതിയ ഉപഗ്രഹം ഇന്ത്യ ഭ്രമണപഥത്തില്‍ എത്തിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്‌. ഏഴ്‌ ഉപഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ സമഗ്രമായ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനമാണ്‌ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നിര്‍മിത ഗതിനിര്‍ണയ സംവിധാനത്തിന്‌ ആവശ്യം. ഇതിന്‌ മുന്നോടിയായി മൂന്ന്‌ ഉപഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ഇന്ത്യ നേരത്തെ ഭ്രമണപഥത്തില്‍ എത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഐ.ആര്‍.എന്‍.എസ്‌.എസ.1 ഒന്ന്‌ എ 2013 ജൂലൈ ഒന്നിനും, ഒന്ന്‌ ബി 2014 ഏപ്രില്‍ രണ്ടിനും, ഒന്ന്‌ സി 2014 ഒകേ്‌ടാബര്‍ 17നുമാണു വിക്ഷേപിച്ചത്‌.

കപ്പല്‍ ഗതാഗതം, വാ്യേമഗതാഗതം, ദുരന്തനിവാരണം, മൊബൈല്‍ ഫോണ്‍ വഴിയുള്ള നാവിക നിയന്ത്രണം എന്നിവയ്‌ക്കു പുറമെ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം, സൈനിക വിന്യാസം അടക്കമുള്ള വിവിധ മേഖലകളില്‍ വലിയ മുന്നേറ്റം നടത്തുകയാണ്‌ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പുതിയ ലക്ഷ്യം. കൂടാതെ രാജ്യവും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള 1500 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ഭാഗവും ഐ.ആര്‍.എന്‍.എസ്‌.എസിന്റെ പരിധിയില്‍ വരുമെന്നാണ്‌ കണക്കുകൂട്ടല്‍. ഇതോടെ പാക്കിസ്‌ഥാന്‍, ചൈന, ഇന്ത്യന്‍മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവ ഇനി രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ വിരല്‍തുമ്പിലെത്തും. യു.എസിന്റെ ജി.പി.എസിന്‌ പുറമെ റഷ്യയുടെ ഗ്ലോനാസ്‌, യൂറോപ്യന്‍സ്‌ സ്‌പേസ്‌ ഏജന്‍സിയുടെ ഗലീലിയോ എന്നിവയ്‌ക്ക് ബദലാകാനും ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പുതിയ നേട്ടത്തിന്‌ സാധിക്കുമെന്നാണ്‌ വിലയിരുത്തല്‍.

പത്തുവര്‍ഷമാണ് ഉപഗ്രഹത്തിന്റെ ആയുസ്സ്. 44.4 മീറ്റര്‍ നീളവും 1425 കിലോഗ്രാം തൂക്കവുമാണുള്ളത്. മാര്‍ച്ച് ഒമ്പതിന് ഇത് വിക്ഷേപിക്കാനാണ് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നതെങ്കിലും ടെലിമെന്ററി ട്രാന്‍സ്മിറ്ററുകളില്‍ ഒന്നില്‍ തകരാര്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയതിനാല്‍ വിക്ഷേപണം മാറ്റിവെച്ചു. ഈ ശ്രേണിയില്‍ ഇനി മൂന്നെണ്ണം ബാക്കിയുണ്ട്. ഗതിനിര്‍ണയസംവിധാനത്തില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ കൃത്യത ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യമാണ് ഇവകൂടി വിക്ഷേപിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്.

2013 ജൂലായ് ഒന്ന്, 2014 എപ്രില്‍ നാല്, ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 16-നുമാണ് ഇതിനുമുമ്പുള്ള മൂന്ന് ഉപഗ്രഹങ്ങള്‍ വിക്ഷേപിച്ചത്. ഉപഗ്രഹം ഭ്രമണപഥത്തിലെത്തിക്കാനായി യത്‌നിച്ച എല്ലാ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞരെയും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്രമോദിയും ഐ.എസ്.ആര്‍.ഒ. ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ എ.എസ്. കിരണ്‍കുമാറും അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു. 1,420 കോടിരൂപയാണ് പദ്ധതിയുടെ മൊത്തം ചെലവ്.

ഇന്ത്യയുടെ എക്കാലത്തെയും വിശ്വസ്ത വിക്ഷേപണവാഹനമായ പി.എസ്.എല്‍.വി. 28-ാംതവണയാണ് ഉപഗ്രഹത്തെ ഭ്രമണപഥത്തിലെത്തിക്കുന്നത്.
